Linden Baroque Orchestra - 2 March

An Early Evening at the Restoration Opera. Excerpts from Purcell: Fairy Queen, King Arthur, Dioclesian, Dido & Aeneas. Blow: Venus & Adonis. Grabue: Albion & Albaneus. The Linden Baroque Orchestra are a group of early music enthusiasts. Their instruments are either 18th century originals or modern copies and they play at "baroque pitch" of 415Hz so that they sound much softer and more subtle than today’s steel-strung and multiple-keyed successors, allowing the music to be heard closer to the way it was when it was composed.

Frog Day - 9 March

A family fun event to celebrate the time of year when frogs come out of their winter sleep and return to their breeding ponds. Most people have a soft spot for these fascinating creatures and at this event, you can find out more about them and see what you can do to help them - numbers of frogs have been in decline for several years due to habitat loss and red leg disease. Activities include pond dipping (find out what else lives in the water!), froggy arts and crafts, quiz and prize trails, badge making, plus BBQ, refreshments and a Friends of the Park gift stall. Hopefully there will also be frogspawn to spot in the Park's ponds and look out for friendly giant frogs!
